Community Involvement
Community Involvement is Close to Our Hearts
At TRICOM, we are an active member of the community and believe strongly in the power of giving.
By hosting events including clothing and food drives, auctions, bowling, and breakfasts and lunches, TRICOM's employees have raised money to support local organizations at all levels in our community.
At the center of this spirit of service are our employees. In addition to the organizations above, they go above and beyond to support the following causes:
TRICOM has been an active supporter of Briggs & Al's Run & Walk for Children's Wisconsin since our first company team participated in 1996. Since then, we've continued to increase our support and participation in the event, and for the last several years have been one of the top corporate sponsors.
Over the years, TRICOM has raised over $975,000 for Children's Wisconsin, not just through their annual walk / run, but also through other fundraising events we've hosted, including our Cheers For Children’s softball and volleyball event, and, more recently, our Cheers For Children’s Golf Outing.
We have been honored to have students from the Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Program work at TRICOM. Cristo Rey Jesuit High School uses an innovative work-study program to provide a comprehensive affordable, Catholic education to students who come from families with limited financial means. All students work five full days per month at companies across the greater Milwaukee area. This program helps students gain valuable experience working in a business environment, develop professional relationships, and acquire new skills for career opportunities after graduation.
Since its inception in 2004, Wine to Water has helped over 1.4 million people in over 45 countries gain access to clean drinking water. Access to clean water impacts people throughout the world – including millions of people right here in the U.S., and even more so in the wake of devastating natural events such as Hurricane Ian. TRICOM incorporated a water filter build and fundraiser into their 2022 TRICOM Client Conference. Over 90 attendees gathered and built 250 water filters, each of which can provide up to 12 people with clean water for over ten years. The group also raised over $50,000 – surpassing the original goal of $20,000 by over 250%.
TRICOM is a proud supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s largest volunteer supported mentoring network. When children and teens have the influence of a caring adult, they are more likely to avoid risky behaviors and to focus on academics. Big Brothers Big Sisters supports the opportunity for meaningful one-on-one mentoring relationships. In addition to many of our staff members being mentors, TRICOM also regularly participates in fundraising efforts, including the Big Brothers Big Sisters annual bowling fundraiser.
The Hunger Task Force believes that every person has a right to healthy food obtained with dignity. They work to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger free community tomorrow. TRICOM has supported their mission over the years by holding peanut butter, cereal, and other food drives in an effort to help meet the most urgent nutritional needs of our community.
TRICOM's Season of Giving Team also focuses on the community through our employee's efforts to raise money for a wide variety of charities. The team works with the Volunteer Center of Greater Milwaukee to receive holiday gift tags for children and seniors that employees then raise money to fulfill. Employees have even had the privilege to drop gifts off and participate in their holiday party. TRICOM’s Season of Giving Team has also supported Penfield Children’s Center, community centers, senior centers, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Menomonee Falls Food Pantry, Hunger Task Force, and others.
